You write some true things IMO, but I really don't like to receive CD's, they are just a pain in the ass. For TTT/C4 we like to get 320's mp3's, nothing else works for me.

i prefer links, a nice zip with tracks (4, 5 tracks), and a bio, myspace links whatever... i really don't need a whole presskit with professional photos... that's overkill

the music is what matters the most and it should fit the label
don't send minimal house to a techno label etc.

i don't reply to all demos either because i don't have the time or because i forget... but if i'm hearing something worthwhile i'll reply even if it's only to encourage (cuz i don't have a lot of room for new signings)

labels that don't reply is normal... get used to it

Ah, come on.

Is not that hard to get to know people who make/release music, though. Maybe if you go support a few local nights you'd end up meeting people and from that meeting other people. Go to gigs, throw some parties, support a few labels etc.

Demo policy:
Before sending your demos to us, please follow these steps.

1. Take a listen to our releases and see if your music fits our label
2. Be original and don't try to copy a certain sound
3. Send only finished (doesn't have to be mastered) mp3 files (320 kbps)
4. Collect 3-6 tracks and zip them
5. Use your own server, yousendit etc and mail us the link
6. Do not send tracks as attachments to email.
7. Write a little bit about who you are, where you have released before etc
8. Most demos will be listened to, but we can only respond to those that interest us
9. We will not share your tracks, but we might play them in clubs to millions of people
10. Send it all to demo [@] tictactoe-records.com
That's the demo policy of TTT/C4...

a few facts from my experience:
-i don't listen demos which are directed on a CC mail list.never.
-i do listen all demos sended directed to my label but, not 1 track or check out my myspace or soundcloud. i like to download and listen when i find some time.
-when a file is not named with at least the name of the artist or email i delete witout hearing. you cant send a file called demo1.rar
-i listen a really quickly preview of some criticals parts in the track
-i give more quickly listen to demos brought by contacts (artists or friends)
-i don't reply the demos that are totally a diferent style or really bad-
