I know this thread is old, but I had to contribute:

you won't believe some of the sh!t I hear living in the Middle East:

girl: do you have any techno?
me: no sorry, i'm only playing drum n bass tonight..
(while I was playing techno)

random: do you have any Russian music?

random: can you play something i know?
(how the fck am i supposed to know that?)

but the worst, was:

man: can you play arabic music?
me: no
man: can you play arabic music?
me: no
man: can you play arabic music?
me: no
man: reaches over to grab me..
me: take the needle off the record..complete silence.. if you want arabic music play it yourself.. grab my bag and leave..

I wouldn't have let a knob like that ruin my night, but I was hating the night anyway..

Ha ha... I´m liking those Shadi. I remember years ago my dad came into my bedroom when I was playing a gabba cd. Don´t remember what it was, probably the Rotterdam Terror Corps or something like that (yeah, I know...) Anyways, my dad was trying to "connect" with me, so he was like "Ah! Is this what they call Dum and Bass then?" I was like "Wha?!" So he said "Well, there´s a drum, and some bass..."

If only it were that simple!

Yeah, my parents didn´t appreciate my D.O.A - NYC Speedcore Cd. Looking back, they were right. You learn through your mistakes!!
