You can even ad some gentle filtering or lfo as a finishing touch. This technique is realy used a lot in minimal production, but allso in other genres such as hip hop or drum & bass.Buddylotion wrote:u mean in the envelopes of a clip in ableton live..?
works pretty fine for me indeed. also try to layer different kinds of kicks on different places in the pattern. it will enhance your feeling within the kickpattern. good luck
as long as your not pushing to much gain on the 20 hz region because it will overkill in the club. Making the bassdrum part of the bassline is a very good idea and works very sweet. Indeed techno has no limits!steevio wrote:why limit yourself like this ???kujoma wrote:bassline 40-60
I never use Freqs below 60hz
use as much of the spectrum as is reproducable through a club sound system..
909 kick drums work really well around 50- 55HZ
why should the bassline be lower than the kick ?, why shouldnt the kick be part of the bassline ?
techno has no limits !!!!
yeah i should have said techno has no limits, but vinyl and sound system power amps have !!Militikie wrote:

no point in doing much below 25hz if it's going to vinyl as this will be filtered out at the cut.
use subs, but keep them under control, or they will eat up your headroom and make your track sound weak.
