the cheaper the flight, the more expensive the extra luggage...

it's 8 euros in europe. the japanese or australian airlines have different fees. much more different.

"basically they cocked up there flights and brought over 100 kilos of records with them on tour .. they arranged to have the excess baggage taken care of to Tokyo but when they got to Tokyo Qantas tried to charge them 8000 euro for the rest of the world tour which was Australia and USA. They tried to change airlines and sat in the airport for 28 hours before deciding on there own accord to turn back. obviously this was far beyond our control would have rectified the situation had they told us what was wrong before heading back home."

let make something clear. US was not in plan because of the visa. we are talking here only about the 2 or 3 dates in australia that were canceled.

i don't know the exact details or amounts. anyway the extra luggage fee was absolutely huge...
