no matter where, it was stolen, sh!t happens
we should back in time & cut thieves hands....
Matthew Dear's harddrive was stolen @ Galapagos
A friend told me that once here in d.c. dj assualt had his who record bag stolen... in the middle of his set. He got on the mic and asked for them back but it didn't help.
And thanks for posting this... I will be paranoid all weekend...
and I feel bad for matt if he had anything unreplacable on there...people can be real shitty sometimes.

He probably thought it was one of the "free Minus goodies".
Seriously, how can youprevent things like this from happening? How can you make sure no-one steals your record bag, especially when you're not playing? Sit on your bag all the night? VIP rooms and sh!t like that aren't much safe as well, so what are you gonna do about things like that?

How about giving away things before people steal them?Red Kite wrote:He probably thought it was one of the "free Minus goodies".

At Sonar 2002, Safety Scissors had his laptop stolen on the stage, 10 minutes before he had to play. His new album was inside with no backup. I think that story basically killed his motivation for a while.
I heard Stewart Walker had his laptop stolen at Maria (berlin), just before his set too.
I always smile when promoters tell me i can leave all my gear in the club and that it's safe. I always answer, "yeah sure but you never know..."
