recording sound on mono... such as kick, snare, bass.. can be better for your CPU

mono sound use less CPU

To be honest i don't think it makes much difference.

If you load a mono sample into Battery then pan it left, it will play out the left speaker.

If you load a stereo sample into Battery then pan it left, it will play out the left speaker.

Drum sounds in general don't have to be stereo. You have to think of all the drum sounds together as one drum track. You are going to create a stereo field by panning the sounds individually to the left or right. The only two things as a rule you shouldn't pan are the lows like the kick drum and the bass becuase if you have your kick or bass sound panned to one side the needle will jump off of the record.

little question here, heard that if your going to do a master for vinyl pressing the bass/kick have to be mono ? Is it reality, if so why ? If not, forget me :wink:
