I'm pretty biased, but I'd go for the machinedrum UW. This way, you can load samples for stuff you are missing (big analog kicks, bass sounds, lots of real world snares), while still having all the possibilities of sound creation you have on the MD, and also the amazing paramlock sequencer.

It has taken me quite some time to unlock the possibilities of the machinedrum, but now it has really become one of my favorite tools to make sound. The new version (mkII) also has some really nice (more samples, and 64 steps!).

Also you can use the MD to sequence MIDI, to resample stuff live and modify it.
