i always like to add a little extra harmonics for the sine waves, with a lo cut filter, to make it a little richer...but it should be really subtle

find a filter/synth that have a self oscillating filter on it, and make it sing. i promise u'll have fun and much use of that. :)

all you need is soundforge
just create a sinewave with the synthesis in soundforge and tune it to the frequency you want

why limit yourself like this ???
use as much of the spectrum as is reproducable through a club sound system..
909 kick drums work really well around 50- 55HZ
why should the bassline be lower than the kick ?, why shouldnt the kick be part of the bassline ?

hm my experience is that club systems mostly can't realy handle freqs below 60hz :?:

Where is this club exactly?
Most club systems can hit as low as 16 or even lower
You must be playing in a strangely shaped room or something.

i think you've got your facts wrong there, i run a sound system and it goes well below 30 HZ and most club systems go well below that.
if you curtail your frequency range at 60 hz you are hardly using subs at all.
