If we lived in the States we would have no problem getting one. There are loads of them over there for about $100. I think I might get my sister to get me one while she is over there.

I bought a Roland JX8P a few months ago.
It was fairly cheap and makes epic pads!

It's somewhere in between the Juno and the Jupiter, soundwise.
Like a poor mans Jupiter. :)

Look for the roland expanders, they come cheaper than the keyboard versions. Also Oberheim Matrix 1000.

How much was it? Always wondered what that synth was like. Ive played on the '3p, but never heard that one.

Yep, been scouring the net and ebay and didnt bump into a single one. The sq80 is what im wanting and the more i read the more i want. Has enough creative power in the sequencer to run a hardware rig. Adds loads more waveforms to the esq1 as well. Polyphonic aftertouch keyboard which isnt based on digital sensoring so wont wear out. Still has the analog filters so essentially its the esq1 on steroids.

One thing fascinated me about pwm on it, youd normally be offered pwm on square waves but its offered on everything with these. Im not sure ive seen that before.

Alpha juno 2/ mks50 can do pwm on sawtooth as well as pulse. It's part of the key to the "hoover" sound.
