The akai apc40 has been disected before and it is pretty cheaply made.

I think it was a big mistake to not have dedicated knobs per channel. All of those encoders on the right side are active per focused track. When I play live I always want to work on more than one channel at a time and if I have a controller I want it to allow me to do with two hands what I can't do with a mouse.

I was also disappointed they did not have an rgb matrix. That would have clearly put them ahead of any competition... especially given that Robert Henke flaunted his awesome rgb monodeckII all over the place!

I can't wait for MAX4Live, that will really open up the possibilities of what you can do with a controller!
