(Of course, not the type that actual eggs come in.

I've been using them for four years now. By far, the best solution for a low budget. Granted, they are not a sound killer, persay, but a sound reducer. Also, there are a lot of factors that come into play when attenuating sound.
>The direction of sound waves within a space.
>The reflection & absorbtion of sound waves.
>Speaker placement.
>Materials within a space will also effect sound wave direction & absorbtion. (ie:Furniture, flooring, etc.)
>Shape of the room (walls, corners, ceiling height, etc.) also effects sound wave reflection.
Put simply, think of sound waves as solid rocks coming out of your speakers at high speed. The more they bounce off of surfaces, the more sound they will make. So, absorbing these rocks will reduce/attenuate the sound that is heard from outside of the room. Solid surfaces will obviously reflect more. Where as soft surfaces will absorb more. Corners are important! Make all of the corners in the room into round surfaces so sound waves don't get trapped in them & bounce continuously. Windows shoud be covered also. Glass is a highly reflective surface which will increase sound vibration within the room & noise heard outside of the room. In addition, windows leak sound waves to the outside where neighbors will be able to hear music more easily. Something to be avoided! Hope these tips help.

Nah mate! The fact that I've not had one single noise complaint from neighbors & no noise police at my door is all the measuring I need.plaster wrote:there is a software for mesuring that stuff. try it and you'll see how much the egg cones attenaute.

Drop the idea of becoming someone else, because you are already a masterpiece.
