well yes you are right but you can't do it on midi tracks. that is what i was getting at.

no, but it that case it isn`t ableton who reverses the sample, its the (hardware or software) sampler u use. or am i wrong on this one? :?
so you have have a sampler(soft or hardware) which can reverse samples, to reverse them. right?

yeah most samplers, if not all, have a sample reverse function in them. but simpler is the one exception that comes to mind. kind of shitty in my opinion being as putting in a reverse function couldn't be that hard and is a relatively common feature used on samplers. but whatever reversinator does just fine for me.
