Hi there friends and family.
We are happy to announce our first release under our newly founded
imprint Home Made. Home Made was started by DJ Sergej in club Tockica
( www.tockica.com ) in Zagreb. While at it's peak, Tockica
serverd clubers with some of the finest international and domestic musical
talents, thus earning a cult status among musicians and clubers. Matthew
Dear, Jonty Skrufff, Tripple R aka Riley Reinhold, Martin Landsky, DJ
Frankie and Festplatten were just some of the artists and labels we had
the pleasure of sharing good vibes with. At the time, HomeMade
Electronica was started, as a series of dj mixes compiled of music
produced by Croats, and mixed by Frequency Crew members. HomeMade
Electronica 1 was mixed by DJ Sergej as a valentines gift for his wife Olja,
followed by a mix from DJ Edo (Exun Rec.), and latest mix from Dj
Pytzek (Rockstar rec.)
As a response to a growing local community of musicians and quality of
music produced, it was time to take the next step and release the music to
the worldwide public. Under Sergej's lead, Home Made Records was born.
The first release is an CD album by a Croatian artist Davor Ostojic aka
Davor O. entitled 'Das Sozial Freischwebende album'.
The term 'sozial freischwebende' or 'socialy free-floating' comes from
sociologist Karl Mannheim and his idea of socially free floating intelligence,
thought which he argues that people get connected through mutual
interests and in this manner, social status, cultural background etc. are
irrelevant. I feel music is therefor socially free floating becouse it always
connected people, as we have witnessed many times at partys and in
clubs.
Zealous in our approach to compile an abundant album, my publisher
Sergej and I agreed on thirteen songs with a mission to take the listener
on a voyage without bias in terms of music genres respectively. This
album allso gave me an oportunity to work with excelent artists such as
Mark Pritchard and Jan Kincl aka DJ Zero, both contributing valuable
knowlege, keys and edits that advanced the music to it's current extent.
Jan and I mixed the album in my home studio, Petar Dundov kindly took
the mastering process under his cloak of expirience and expertise, Goran
from radost.net pictured the music and created a remarkable visual
identity following up on the album's free floating philosophy.
Davor O. was born in Zagreb in 1985. He's been playing classical and jazz
guitar for 14 years. While spending a lot of time in the studio as a kid,
where his father was recording some of his albums, Davor imediately fell
in love with technology, sound and music production. After finishing
musical scool where he won several prizes for clasical guitar performance,
he started to produce electronic music in his home studio his father built
over the years.
In 2002 he remixes a radio hit single Jazzy Feelings by Supreme Funk.
In 2003 with Blacksoul (Icon/Deepfunk/Uniform rec.) he produces 'From
Zagreb to Munich EP' for Loco Utd. Records. In 2004 he get's invited to
Rome for Red Bull Music Academy where he meets Mark Pritchard
(Reload, Global Communications) and spends some time in the studio with,
producing a cut for the album (Where It Begins). Davor is a quiet
keeping-low-profile person, not wishing to talk alot about himself, but
sssshhh, don't tell anyone.

.. translation of what plaster said is: "re:mode rules...it reminds me of 'chain reaction' with more futuristic elements" ...plaster wrote:sounds interresting.
re:mode je zakon...podsjecha me na chain reaction, s vishe futuristickih elemenata.
.. my comment to this is: Re:mode is a master-piece of a track.. it's realy a song that gets under your skin after only a few seconds of listening ... and after quite some time on repeat (10 or more) it doesn't get boring, only more and more interesting - revealing the secrets that lie beneath ...
