i need descent needles for bedroom playing and maybe a little sampling, no scratching just mixing. something nice but not to $$$. any recommendations? i just dont think a nice pair of hi-end ortofons are worth what i want them for and i havent bought needles in years so im out of the loop.
thnx
needles
high end ortofons are worth it imo, ive had mine for almost 8 years and they still sound great....without eating you records, like many cheap needles, will do.
to avoid groove burn, with new needles: always use an s-shape tone arm, not the straight one. break in your needles (with fast backspins and the like) on a shitty piece of wax....that james blunts "you're beautifull" song for instance

bawww..........beep-beep
Ortofon OM Pro is what you should get...At this moment probably the best value for money.
here's a link: http://www.djmart.com/ortofonompro.html
EDIT: I think the price listed there is wrong...I got mine for almost half the price...
I also read somewhere that if you need a new needle for it, you can even put a Ortofon Nightclub needle in it.
