TIC TAC TOE RECORDS -
This is what we’re all about. 8 of the best Danish minimal/techno acts you can imagine on 2x12”. ENJOY!

Matt Vega & Morten Fresh – Instant Corruption:
They have released on Copenhagen imprint MIS Rec and as Domystek on the legendary Berlin label Fumakilla run by Woody. Here on this compilation they show both minimal and melodic sides – and as always an immaculate, flawless finish to the production.

Theodor Zox – Extruder:
He’s back. After the great success of his Red City EP on TTT #3, Theodor gives us a more laidback, melodic, but still clicky track in the usual style. A great track that will be remixed by Maetrik on TTT011 !!

BrightLight – How To Build A Monster:
Brightlights two releases on Karmarouge spurred instant attention and have both been charted and played by some of the best DJ’s in the world. Here he delivers a truly great moving track that will rock most floors.

Mr. Kemi & Amox – Good Toy Mechanic Girl:
They are mostly known from their Lasergun and MIS Rec releases, but visited TTT last time on the 4 In A Row EP on TTT #6. This track is supposedly inspired by the Berlin sound – we would say it is superb enough to inspire others.

Trentemøller – Serenetti Part 2:
Yeah, the Danish wonderboy. Success has kicked off and he had no time at all, but Trentemøller finally agreed to do a 2nd part of the Serenetti track from TTT#9. And WOAH, boy, what turned up? What he himself calls his best track ever. This track is tearing the clubs up right now when he plays live all over Europe.

Tomas Barfod – Karran:
Tomas is known from his releases on Get Physical and his involvement in the group Whomadewho on Gomma. He has done a great laidback track, with a very nice and calm cello played by Ask Futtrup for this compilation.

Amox & Atle – A Witch’s Kiss:
This track is simply amazing. The track has been laying in the TTT headquarters for some months and finally we find the right place to put this track. Melodic, summer, drugged up is some of the words that could describe this track.

Hansen & DJ Daniel – Under A Flawless Blue Sky:
Yes, of course our homeboys needed a place on this compilation. Another dose of their unique signature sound: Dry lo-tech quirkiness combined with sublime pieces of moods and melodies. You know the score – it’s really great.

Feedback and reviews:

Groove - review January 2006 (Germany)
Tipp: Matt Vega & Morten Fresh “Instant Corruption”, Bright Light “How To Build A Monster”, Trentemøller “Serenetti Part 2”

Martinez (Out Of Orbit) - review Groove Magazine Jan/Feb 2006 (Germany)
Danish Minimal House/Techno label Tic Tac Toe picks up another winner for me with their 10th release. Collecting 8 Danish producers to deliver a full double LP (2x12inch) with only domestic music. This really shows that there is a lot to the Danish scene. There are amazing tracks from Theodor Zox "Extruder", which has a nice funky techno feel to it and also includes cool productions from Matt Vega, Kemi & Amox, Hansen & Daniel and Tomas Barfod. All of these cool music, but the one track that completely knock me off my feets was the Second part of Trentemøllers "Serenetti" track. I would say that its almost more a new version and comes off sounding like a completely new track. I know that there is a lot of hype about Anders Trentemøllers stuff, but belive me this is not because of the hype there is, but because this track is simply so mystic, groundbreak and new for him. It starts off super deep with a low tuned baseline and kick making you feel like you walking in the desert under the moonlight. Then he introduces some duby chords adding some more harmony to the track and finally a stabby, nasty acidish bass comes in to lift everything. For me this sounds like slow classic Goa (but slower!), mixed with Dub and Experimental Techno. Also I really like that Anders are taking things deeper again! Amazing record and all the other tracks are well worth a listen as well, but for me "Serenetti pt.2" is the one. For you maybe its one of the others?!
***** 5/5

DJ Emerson – review Raveline February 2006 (Germany)
Ebenfalls gut im Rennen liegen BrightLight mit dem wunderschönen Titel ”how to build a monster”.

Only For DJ Magazine - review February 2006 (France)
(Ludovic Rambaud - ONLY FOR DJ's #113)

This is a solid release. I love Serenetti most [along with the earlier mixes released].

The more i listen to this track, the more i like it! Really nice groove, but still moody and mellow. G-R-E-A-T-!

Covert UK – recordstore UK
Here's something special for Tic Tac Toe's tenth release: they've assembled eight tracks from the best Danish minimal producers and cut them onto two slabs of vinyl. Excellent choices across the board, all strong tracks in their own way, with plenty of variety to illustrate the breadth, depth and scope of Denmark's take on minimalism. Standout melodic dance tracks come from Matt Vega & Morten Fresh ('Instant Corruption'), and Mr. Kemi & Amox ('Good Toy Mechanic Girl'), with some supreme deepness coming from Anders Trentemoller (long-awaited 'Serenetti Part 2', and, he feels, his best track ever). Brighlight shows us how to build a glitchy squelch monster, and TTT homeboys Hansen and Daniel round out with a signature dry, quirky lo-tech number sprinkled with sublime moods and melodies. Great stuff - don't miss!

V.V.A.A. - "Noughts And Crosses" (Tic Tac Toe Records)
