There’s a lot to say about this impressive video that took 9 months to complete, but here it’s very own authors gives us a thorough explanation about they work: “Círculo y Cuadrado” is based on Victor Vasarrely’s Op-Art, which generated a new aesthetic and explored the abstraction. Vasarely gave a new dimension to the plane by using basic shapes such as circles and squares to create the illusion of volume and movement.
Throughout this experimental video clip Proyecto Biopus explores aesthetics as well as being extremely original with their electroacoustic music. In this example, they exploit the use of basic shapes to the max, almost to the point where a relationship exists between sound and image. This crates a visual abstract universe that feeds off optical illusions and constant mutation, which we submerge into a virtual world."
