oh yeah, now i remember learning at college that 44.1khz was deemed to be the peak of audible quality and it is the frequency that CDs are manufactured. Anything more would be inaudible as an increase in quality to the human ear as we can't receive process that much more information.

Something like that anyway. Seems to be what they're all wrestling with on that link you provided audiostatic.
