[MTF003]Adrian Niculae - Fundamental LP

Less than a year ago Adrian Niculae, aka Priku, released Motif 001 which was shortly followed by his second release in early spring this year. Now things are getting serious and we have 3 discs to celebrate Motif 003 as well as Adrian's first album. 8 tracks have been carefully selected to fulfill this mission, all carrying Adrian's acoustic legacy forward. First disc comes on side A with 'Re Publik', a one dubby monster where as a more acoustic sound is revealed on side B; Vid is quite relaxed at first but the groove is still there. The hats and the snares join to make everything fall in place.

The second disc draws a more melodic line with 'E Peste Tot' and 'Brother John’s' delayed synths and subtle pads. 'Killer funk' gets serious on side D with Adrian showing a darker yet powerful creation. Creepy reverberations complete the distant synths and catchy groove.

Last but not least, the third disc includes another three amazing tracks. 'Do I' is as aggressive as Adrian can be on this album, stripped minimal techno at it’s best, followed by 'Raw Beats', a rolling mellow dubby creation.

The album ends with 'True Story', a long and relaxed journey, combining a perfect groove and a smooth bassline with classical elements towards the end. Limited to 500 copies, 3X12'' (180gr.) pressing.
Samples over at Juno

I really enjoyed everything he has done under his Priku moniker and under his real name. I hope this won't be different.

after listening to the samples i like 3 tracks out of 8, and think i will not pay 33,- € for the whole LP. if they released it as 3 EP's everybody can pick his fav out of is, like dewalta has done with his illumination LP ...

anyway, here is the deejay.de link:

it always seeks the deepest place,
which is always below in the darkness
and heaviness of the earth.-

You can pick it up over at fatplastics.com for 26 euros, cheaper by 5 euros when compared to music-head and 6 to juno. Fatplastics has the most legit prices on stuff coming from ourown distribution. Only goes to show the mark up by shops (online or retail) is very real and its not just them tryna cash in.

I like track number 6. I agree, the rest sounds fairly generic and outdated minimal with a little twist.
