exactly.. that's makes no sense and is completely bias to assume. online shop "need" new music to survive, and have "update" emails to make sure people know ahead of time of new things coming out. They help stimulates the market place, and most certainly don't "take away" from it.
If you are referring to "starting" up a label it takes tact and time to get your label to sell there. As I mentioend not too long ago in another thread, someone I spoke to this past summer who has been selling records for 20 years now, said they "still" only press 200-300, and ship apx 25 records at a time to juno, and other online shops. so it's a lot of work regardless. far from easy.
are you and your friends doing this for the love of music or the idea and motive to make a profit? A few record shops growing up in detroit are no longer there, and I understand the idea of getting something started, but online shops are what's keeping vinyl moving in extremely difficult markets. they most certainly aren't the enemy but rather a product of their environment.
