best softsynths for ableton

i'm teaching my son Ableton, but we need a couple of decent analogue style synths and a decent drumkit.
any recomendations ?
what do guys think are the best ones out there ?

u-he zebra 2 is a good workhorse synth with good configurability, modularity and good sound.

still sh!t though!

Reaktor is probably the best but would be too much too soon really.

There was one a few years back which was based on the nord lead. I can't remember the name but as you're familiar with nords it might be good.

yeah just looking for free stuff for now, on PC
so he can practice synthesis when he's not at my place (here he can use real synths)

my mates just been round and he suggested these;

Blaukraut Engineering's Charaltan
Togu Audio line
U-He Zebralette
