TNM Festival is an annual music festival that takes place in Katowice, Southern Poland.
The words Nowa Muzyka translates to New Music, the name and main goal for the the event which aims to showcase the latest and boldest in international electronic music as well as visual arts. All of this is staged in an actual closed down coal mine (KWK Katowice) with all staged located in between mine shafts, closed down warehouses and other postindustrial heritage from the turn of XIX and XX century. This makes Tauron Nowa Muzyka a totally unique music event
Described as the "best non-commercial electronic music event in Poland and Central Europe", the independent nature of Tauron Nowa Muzyka attracts the curious music fan, one that is eager to travel away from the biggest festival locations in order to search a more independent feel (in terms of infrastructure and audience), extraordinary setting of the festival, and also discover new trends and musicians from an event which is highly influential in helping to set the music trends of Poland and the entire region.
Despite dealing with predominately electronic music, the festival line-ups are known to be experimental, often touching on an array of genres and sub genres.
The added sideshows of cinema, art installations and photo exhibitions add to the diverse and multimedia feel of the festival.
