Hello there
I want to start yet another hand-stamped white label run, which will become a label eventually.
I'm wondering if i have to register as a corporation or something.
Assuming you have a distribution deal already, and since it's underground house/techno music, does anyone care of how legal it is ?
Any tips ?
thanks

Re: Legal advice on white labels
Does the distribution company that you're working with accept to work with you as a private person?
Maybe I don't understand your question.

Well, those 2 German ones I've dealt with required that you were a company and not a private person.breton wrote:Why wouldn't they?Cheaper wrote:do you think distributors would accept to work with private persons ?

Re: Legal advice on white labels
you are talking about how 'legal' it is... Do you refer to if you're using not-cleared samples in the music or?
Re: Legal advice on white labels
there are only two things which can be illegal when you press vinyls
1. you use not cleared-samples, or stuff you dont have the copyright for.
2. you dont pay taxes for the earnings you make.
other than that i dont see anything which can be illegal. also a company in germany cant tell the difference if you are a one man company or a private person, they dont have insight into company laws form every country in europe.
