Lem is right, there are definitely some irreplaceable chips in the jupiter 6.

they are also hard to keep in tune, i had one on loan breifly and it kept drifting out.

still i love that sound..

my next door neighbour has a broken Jupiter 8 leaning up aginst the wall in his garage, and ive been trying get him to part with it, but even though its been there for 11 years, he still hasnt located the buggered chip for it, not a good sign.

them jup 8's are going for silly money now. I think i see one that went for 7k on ebay not so long ago.

which is the right juno to go for? 106 or the 60? and whatever else I left out!

I would personally go for a sequential circuits sixtrak. It has real vco's.

I might know of one for sale.... lol

hopefully it works and doesn't have pitch drift :) and the sound is amazing u are right! just going to cross my fingers or i end up with $2000 paperweight that looks like it comes from outer space! :)

Also just connected with my friend he said he would recap the whole thing for me... i may just go ahead and do this in a couple months to improve the longevity of it. what do you guys think?

i love my 106... simply because it has midi but the 60 is the one to go for for the sound. I think the 6 is wonderful too... but sh!t start your own juno thread! this is jupiters only ;) lol. j/k j/k i love these roland synths... so please discuss! :)

but no Dave Smith prophet on this thread. jupiter is king... long live Roland.
