Showing the maturity that comes with ploughing towards their teens, Indigo Raw build on Blakkats acidic addition to the label’s catalogue with 5 slices of unhinged house. The Quantum Mechanics atomic sounding Neutrons EP hits us here with a big bang, two great originals plus reworks from Jef K & Gwen Maze, Paul Loraine and Jonny Cruz on the duty.

With a deft nod to the imprint’s home city of Barcelona, the EP's main track, Neutrons, sees the quantified Swedish duo bury a Spanish guitar deep within a dense collage of crackling samples, a heroine fueled vocal, stuttering drums and looming bass. The track is claustrophobic and imposing with a deep sense of melancholy, pushing at the accepted boundaries of electronic music.

On the Jef K & Gwen Maze take of Neutrons, the parisian duo head straight for the floor with a rolling slice of peak time house. Sighing vocals play off against 8bit melodies to set a steady pace, while a fat low end undulates cheekily beneath. This is an assured piece of dance floor technology that will not let the energy dip for a moment.

Atomic, rides looming low end on forceful, shuffling drums. Offering glimpses of house music through twisted, dusty samples, it ploughs relentlessly into the floor, taking no prisoners en route. It is a rough and ready track for those moments when the floor is crying out to be sent sideways.

Paul Loraine twists Atomic up into an electronic beast of skipping blips and snappy drums. Retaining the marching rhythm of the original he takes it off on a chaotic, technoid tangent that many a dj will hide deep in their playlists. Taking a contrasting approach to remixing and setting a steady groove,

Jonny Cruz strips back Neutrons, opening it up to allow individual sounds the space to breath. Aquatic toms flow unhurriedly around cheeky bass lines, bright pads light up this understated track.

On their twelfth release Indigo Raw show a dynamism with two very different tracks and three remixes that pull at opposite ends of the house and techno spectrum. The package abounds with character with nods to many different influences all bound together in an accomplished whole.
