Ensoniq SQ80 or ESQ-1

I looked into the ESQ-1 a few years ago ( couldn't even find one anywhere in the UK ) and saw the specs of that and the SQ 80. I think the most notable differences were that the latter had polyphonic aftertouch a disk drive and more waveforms. I think the engine must be pretty much the same but don't hold me to that. I know the SQ 80 can do all the patches on the ESQ-1 though.

[edit] Just had a look on Vintage Synth Explorer, I reckon the sequencer is enhanced as well.

I have the esq1.

It's a really good synth. I have used it loads.

Everything apart from the drums were made using the esq1

....which is annoying as I keep looking up these synths and decide I need one! I haven't even got the time to play with what I have got :-sadflower

yeah bro... its the same story here. but then I just change my perspective and now i'm a collector! i've always dreamed of knowing what this stuff was when i was a kid... for years i was wondering "how do they make it!?" ... and now its like "i must get that!"
