Re: Totally out of inspiration. tips?
damn, I was trying to find back that page from sonic finger, with the "virtual studio visitor" plugin on.
you know, the one where you could choose Steve Hawkins or a ninja or Michael Jackson or whatever.
it seems it's no longer up on the net. A real shame, it was fucking hilarious !
guess this one has to do :

Psychedelics - no way. I get so frustrated because I can't figure out how to make my ideas into something palpable. The last time I tried this I almost cried because I couldn't get my mind to "work," for lack of a better term. I had these ideas that I couldn't materialize and it literally drove me mad.
Ket - no way in hell. I don't understand how people take this and make music. Does not gel with me at all.
....
When I'm high I can get lost in patches and pads and have some fun. Increasingly, being sober makes me much more productive and more energetic. Being sober allows me to make decisions quickly and move onto the next item that needs attention. I won't sit there for 3 hours tweaking a filter; I'll record some different sections and move onto the next thing. I'm not afraid to commit to ideas when sober, whereas when high I will question everything.
I've noticed also that when sober, I really get into the music much more than when high. I'll be jacking in my seat and then I'll get up and dance around a bit. I don't seem to do that when high.

Rest for few days, clear your head. Do something else. The ideas will come

produce in short intervalls like 30 - 40 minutes. take breaks in between.
in those breaks free your mind... autogenic training, meditation and all kinds of relaxation excercises
ideas will come to a clear mind

When I'm out of inspiration it really helps me to read books about architecture and stuff.
