So is the operator like images that go

[3][4]
[2]
[1]

Mean that 3 and 4 are not FM while 1 and 2 are and 3+4 works as FM for the signal going through 1 and 2?

Assuming that 3 and 4 plug into 2 and then pluginto 1 it shows you how each osc will modulate the next one.

If it's all flat no lines connecting then there is no FM happening.

from memory, make it like this:

[4]
[3]
[2]
[1]

all saw waves, all at 16 Hz fixed. osc 1 volume at max. osc 2,3,4 volume at -12. memory escapes me on the phase settings, could be oscs 2 & 4 phase is at 50%, try all variantions, only one does it. filter if you like, i think i didn't... maybe just HP.
