Digital Distortion & unpolishing sounds

really did my best to get sounds processed to sounds as unpolished as possible, what are some techniques that you fellow mnml board members use. Took me some time to get my snare sound in this tune:

use cheap old hardware drum machines, samplers and effects.

There are two routes you could go on that in terms of sounds. Either use a lot of synthesized sounds or use recorded acoustic samples. Maybe sample a club hitting a pillow and filter it for bassy kicks. On the synthesis side I would think that the rawer sounds would sound like they were made by cheap gear from the early 90's.

Hoover is the name for the bass sound you use on your track.
