[UK] 12/02/2011 Public House ft. Terje Bakke [LDN]

Post by publichouse »

It's a new year and the maiden Public House venture of 2011 is one of our most exciting parties yet. As you know we pride ourselves on scouring Europe for the hottest talent we can lay our hands on, and we are delighted to announce not one, but two debutants to our fair shores. Firstly we are jetting in the Norwegian wonderkid Terje Bakke for his UK debut! Terje is one of the hottest young talents in Europe and his smooth productions and high octane sets make this booking perfect for Public House. Secondly, making their London debut we give you Waifs & Strays. This dynamic duo have quietly become one of the most promising homegrown talents and 2011 is going to be their year, with a excellent releases on Matt Tolfrey's Leftroom imprint these party starters have been ripping up Bristol for years and now it's time for London to taste their undoubtable pedigree. What better way to kick off the new year than with a spanking new venue... so we will be bringing our raucous rave to Old Streets latest twilight dancefloor, Nomad. Perfectly situated in the heart of Shoreditch it houses two floors, ripe for our brand of late night shenanigans. So get those names over to the usual email address (public.house@live.com) for guarenteed £5 entry. With the January detox done and dusted, there is no better place to get back in the saddle!

Terje Bakke (Soulfooled, Be Chosen)

Terje has been in the electronic dance music scene since late 2003 and has gained global plaudits for his brilliant productions and highly intelligent DJ sets. With the release “Bakke & Ljungqvist – Fanatic” he kick started his artist career in fine style, Terje now has several releases under his belt on labels like Be Chosen, Lördag Records, Electronic Elements, Arctic Wave and Maris Music to name few. His musical taste and style has evolved throughout the years, but he has always focused on innovatively structured sets and strong melodies. Spanning the genres his sets take in a variety of influences and this is reflected also in his outstanding productions. The latest two EPs, Tango Orange and Horsel have won admirers from such luminaries as Reboot, Hector, Sasha Dive and Alex Niggemann to name just a few. He is very enthusiastic individual and genuine star of the future, but whatever happens he'll keep dedicating all his time on what he loves and believes in.

Waifs & Strays (Leftroom)

Waifs & Strays are Amos Nelson and Rich Beanland. A duo born out of diverse musical backgrounds but brought together by a love of house music, pure and simple.Their debut track – 2010’s late night juggernaut ‘3am’ – was rapidly snapped up for Matt Tolfrey’s Leftroom imprint, and set the benchmark high for future success picking up props from major players including Luciano, DJ T, Anja Schneider, dOP, Danny Tenaglia and Laurent Garnier. The soon-to-be-released follow-up record ‘Yeah Yeah’, has already gathered significant international support following its debut at the last year’s Detroit Music Conference, smashing dancefloors from Fabric to Watergate. With Heidi calling it ‘the dirtiest house track I have heard in a very long time’ and featuring it on her Radio1 show, and with its full release scheduled for Spring, it’s sure to set Miami alight.
