Music should be an expression that creates a positive change. One that is free of economic gain or loss, and only to proliferate and encourage forward thinking art without the shadow and pressure of any material gain. When software programs or play list dictate what is to be exposed or shared, we as artist loose and slowly die. When music is about money making its function as a form of expression ceases to exist.

Business exploit the idea of acceptance to its final core. Everybody needs to be the same sound the same and act behave eat the same food. Hype and marketing is about creating insecure people who fall for the bate of needing to do things in life they actual can do without if only they loved and accepted themselves as individuals.

Love is definitely evolution and music is the food of love. Love and accept yourself and being human will come easier and make more sense. Let us not make music another nike shoe or mcdonalds hamburger.

(disclaimer a bit stoned when writing this)

Cheers!

BTW, does Jay Haze really think that people without a proper roof under their head care about if they can afford going to a club or not? I think they have other priorities.

excuse me roy? do you know me? do you know how many different slums i have been to in this world asking questions?
im serious here, please answer me-
do you know what they want? have you personally ever gone there and asked?

well, let me tell you i dedicate a portion of my time in life, to this exact question. again, ignorant remarks by people who are clearly not ready to take the next step. am i wrong?

because if i am, i need the information as to why im wrong. its only fair.
I don't know you and I don't know where you have been in your life. Where do you get the idea from that I pretend to know you or know where you came from?
I have been to poorer parts of this world, haven't talked (in depth) with the people in these parts of the world.
All I am saying is that it seems a lot more logical, from my point of view at least, that someone without basic needs such as food & water, clothing, shelter and to a lesser extent education and sanitation would likely prioritize these things over having a chance to go to a night club.

I think the point is that people don't necessarily need to go to an expensive nightclub in order to experience good music and see their dj heros.

roy, i highly doubt that nightclubs are at the top of their list as well.
but where did i say that this has anything to do with nightclubs?
music is a cultural experience not limited to any specific venue.
and i honestly believe that music is a great outlet of priority for these people to overcome their situations and unite. creativity is a powerful force, with unlimited possibilities.
im sure you know that :)

@Jay:
I didn't understand fully, do you stop the labels, or will someone run them in the future (Sierra Sam etc?)

i have spent 10 years of my life doing record labels. its rather boring to me now, so in the end the decision to stop my labels has also to do with this.

This is less about Music and more about human nature -virtually impossible to change, thats why socialism and communism never worked (unfortunately) - people are inherently selfish and greedy.

People want money, people with money prosper - Look though history and you will see this. I am not for one minute saying that this is a good thing, but look through the annals of history- Everyone looking out for themselves.

Interesting read mind.
