[ADIG09]Vita(Mikael Stavostrand)"Dig Down"EPw/Bean

Post by adjunct »

artist:
Vita (AKA Mikael Stavöstrand)
title:
Dig Down EP
label:
Adjunct
cat.no.:
ADIG09
worldwide distribution:
KOMPAKT DISTRIBUTION
release date:
Nov. 29th, 2010

For ADIG 09 we have a stunning set of tunes from Vita. After some really nice releases on Kindisch and Force Inc. Vita, AKA Mikael Stavöstrand (Sunset Diskos, Highgrade, Lick My Deck, Adjunct etc.) has dropped another beautiful release for us and we are very happy about it! With gorgeous vocals from Erika Angeil, this release has something for everyone.

On the title track Dig Down, Mikael gives us a dreamy vocal and acoustic guitar driven stripped down house number. With Crossing, Mikael brings in a bit of acid into the house, as the vocals say, I don’t dare to cross this border!

On remix duties we have LA’s one and only Jonni Darkko dropping a deep and trippy remix of Crossing….perfect for those later nights. Berlin’s own Beaner, who has also had some great releases on Thema and Bar 25 recently, slows down the tempo on Dig Down and turns in a funky piece of work for the heads. Last but not least we have Adjunct’s Kenneth James Gibson in his Reverse Commuter guise giving us a very melodically layered shoegaze inspired house remix of Dig Down. Rejoice!

Tracklist:

1. Dig Down
2. Dig Down (Reverse Commuter’s Down Deeper mix)
3. Dig Down (Beaner remix)
4. Crossing
5. Crossing (Jonni Darkko remix)

"Dig Down original and Crossing are for me! Great! Thanks so much!"
-Edu Del Doce (Deejay Magazine)

"Excellent!"
- Gradient Magazine

"Stavöstrand serves up a dreamy house jam reminiscent of Luomo's offerings -- a minimalist aesthetic of percussion, bits & bytes of a house aesthetic since modernized as it blends into genres of acid and acoustic guitar driven downtempo.
Darkko's mix lifts into the ethereal with an upbeat tempo that propels this deep house drift onto an elevated plane.
It's always a pleasure to hear a vocal worked with tinges of beautiful sadness. The brash wailing diva has rarely if ever done it for me -- it's the honey-sweet melancholy of intimate phrases sung as by Erika Angeil that steal the heart."
-Tobias Van Veen (reviewer: Stylus / FUSE Magazine)

"Tolle Stimme von Erika Angeil und der überraschende Gitarreneinsatz sorgen für einen intensiven Trip zwischen Strandtanz und Afterhour."
- Jochen Ditschler (Groove Magazine)

" crossing !!"
- DJ MPLeary (Raveline)
