Which soundcard to get ?

Post by sheet1 »

hey im looking for a soundcard for my pc. If i had a mac i probably would have went with the apogee duet but i dont so i'm wondering which sound card to get in the price range of around 250-400$ max. if you have any recommendations of other sound cards that are more expensive feel free to name me some.

im preferably looking for something that is not m-audio since i have had bad expirences with them

Tc Electronic Desktop Konnekt 6
very good converters and very very hands on.

I mean for that price range I think this is the best there is.
RME's are indeed fantastic but a bit expensive.

This Konnekt 6 has the same converters as the other big brother TC audio interfaces.

I am planning to buy a good soundcard, but I find it hard to choose between a RME Babyface/Fireface or a Apogee Duet.

Any thoughts on this?

the new Avid M Boxes are in the same league as the apogee duet.

RME have the best drivers and sound decent.

Echo Audio sound really good for the money. better than RME

the stainberg MR816 X is suppose to be really good but i've never heard it. not sure if the smaller interfaces are the same quality.

MOTU not so good, i'd rather use M-Audio profire 2626 myself.
