This was one of the main reasons I stopped using turntables. That and the annoying fluff on the needle every so many tracks.

@ Psytox thats a option you see at several places.
and it works most of the time. but i still think that there has to be another way... there must be a better way...

does someone use anything else than free floats?
something that works fine?

Yes! On a similiar tip, center blocks have always worked for me.

we use 60x40cm, a sl fits perfectly on it.

I wouldn't go down the freefloats road. Waste of money! In addition the decks become all wobbly etc.

The concrete slabs are definitely the way forward. Solves both the vibration and the resonance problem! We had a 50kg slab under each turntable at our gigs and it really worked wonders - made the decks really stable :!:

You can have tennis our squash balls under the concrete slabs if the conditions are really crap, but normally the slabs on their own should just do.

If you got shitloads of money to spend you could also get special feet for your decks http://www.isonoe.com/
