[Perlon] VA - Superlongevity Five

Post by Roy Koch »

Quoted from RA:

Perlon have announced preliminary details for Superlongevity Five, the next edition of their acclaimed compilation series.

Though the official tracklist is still forthcoming, label co-founder Thomas Franzmann, AKA Zip, has revealed the cast of artists confirmed for the album, all of whom contribute previously unreleased tracks. Many of the label's age-old standbys are included, such as Ricardo Villalobos, Matt John, Dandy Jack, Thomas Melchior and Baby Ford. Cassy and Tobias Freund each make an appearance, along with Soulphiction, Stefan Goldmann, STL and Half Hawaii (AKA Sammy Dee and Bruno Pronsato). Label founders Markus Nikolai and Franzmann both contribute as well, with the latter appearing under his Dimbiman guise.

The collection is shaping up to be particularly strong when it comes to side projects and other rarities. Zip and Sammy Dee appear as Pantytec for the first time since 2006, and Matthew Dear revives his seldom used Jabberjaw guise. Also included is the Perlon super-group Narcotic Syntax, which consists of Zip, Markus Nikolai, Uwe Giegler and James Dean Brown. Detroit native Daniel Bell makes a come-back as well, delivering his first new track since 2003.

The compilation will be launched with a special two-floor edition of the imprint's monthly Get Perlonized party at Berghain/Panorama Bar. The downstairs room will feature live performances by Shackleton, Portable and San Proper, all of whom appear on the compilation, as well as UK acid veteran A Guy Called Gerald. Meanwhile, Audio Werner will DJ in Panorama Bar alongside usual hosts Zip and Sammy Dee. A pre-release party will take place a week earlier in room one of fabric, featuring Zip, Sammy Dee, Baby Ford and Thomas Melchior.

Further details for the compilation will be posted as soon as they become available.

Perlon will release Superlongevity Five on November 8th, 2010.

I am super hyped for this without even hearing the samples. Nice to hear that Daniel Bell will put a track on it as well!
If anyone has some samples please post them.

Perlon is a great label for sure, and lot's of their releases are = CLASSICS, but, IMO, the last year or so there have been more and more so-so stuff coming out...

Cone on, Zip, Villalobos, Daniel Bell, Sammy Dee, San Proper, Cassy, Half Hawaii and other sick producers on 1 compilation. I agree with you on the fact that some releases have been less good, but this can impossibly fail :D
