Lots of those around here.
Now it's off topic.
wow!
Ye i do somethin similarto this but i have a 8 bar long sample of a crowd clapping and sidechained a gate on it to open on the snare/clap hit, different clap every time...lovely.thom wrote:My solution for thick, splashy claps was this:
In Battery, I layered several medium-sized audience applause samples with a few clappers being close to the mic. I found the samples on Freesound.
Loaded them, selected all, mapped them to the same key(c1), randomized (with the lfo) the start point, hard panned some, kept some in the middle, compression.
The result is excellent... all hits sound different and natural. And it is all very flexible from a mixing standpoint... you will, with the right tweaks, get to something that naturally stands out without having to sacrifice something else in the mix.
Just remember to select all the cells to tweak the amplitude envelope... and other parameters if you need to... Here you go (samples and patch file):

Ideal for disco.
all day long looking samples in a package of thousands "Looking for a needle in a haystack"::BLM:: wrote:For me claps and hats are the hardest thing to do. I could spend all day going through clap samples and not find the right one. The clap is prob the last thing I add in a track.
