The latest release on Metroline Limited - Matt Masters' Nocturnal Toms EP - delivers some heavy slabs of night-drive deep techno.
The title track takes us back to mid-period Metroplex releases, but with intricate percussive features, and exciting, surprising arrangements. The track's synths are brutal and unapologetically electronic, but there's plenty of groove and feeling in them - think Redshape at his most introspective.
We all know how Exciting Vodka can be. And finally, Matt's written a soundtrack to that rubber-legged walk to the club that we all love to do. The Exciting Vodka gets deep and dirty, with insistent bass heart beat and smooth ear-carressing pads.
In Under Wahawo, subtle buzzing sawtooths underpin an airy, fluid pads and soaring synth stabs, while deceptively tough beats and bubbling rhythms move the track forward
Rio Padice adds his trademark Chicago flow to his remix of Under Wahawo. Up-front hats and stuttering snares transform the original's smooth synth-lines into a bumpin', grindin' late night workout.
