how to produce this bass line sound

Post by dubgil »

Hey all,
Before you regulars jump down my throat with the typical "figure it out yourself" replies, please understand I ask this because I don't even know where to begin....

anyway, take a listen to this track from the schall netlabel artist otzim lee

around 0:45s, a fairly common bassline sound comes in.

This sound was pretty prevalent in early rave/techno. I've *always* loved this sound, but don't know what it may be referred to as (other than bass - but it's pretty unique to itself) I'd be willing to bet back in the day this bassline sound may have even been a preset on a some old synth. It's fairly recognizeable, I'm sure, but I'd like to recreate it myself, and don't know how to start (i'm not well versed synthesist.... otherwise I wouldn't be posting for help)

thank you in advance,

that's a fairly common acid sound... reason/ableton both have similar presets for this. Find them and tweak them to suit your needs.

There are also a couple of vsts for this but i cant seem to remember their names right now.
