I read so much bad about the 8.1.1 release, so I would stay on 8.0.5 if I were you until a new release is out...Depre wrote:well my new iMac should be arriving sometime this week,

As far as I remember Ableton don't recommend 8.1.1 to be used at gigs..
yeap I have max+m4l but Ill wait for 8.1.2 to upgrade. I had many problems with an old update so I wait also before updating!!hydrogen wrote:Thanks for the offer buddy. 8.1.1? max4live of course. same here...Daemonix wrote:SL with 8.1 for more than 3 months now! 0 crashes ... but I have a very basic setup with this mac.
Well i'm going to look into my plugins and see if something isn't up to date or something ... maybe uninstall some demos or things like this.
The problem mainly exists when i'm creating something new copying midi etc... its nightmare for me. type of stuff makes me want to quit making music with machines.
EDIT: I dont install demos in my main system!
good tip. i'll keep that in mind with my new systemDaemonix wrote:EDIT: I dont install demos in my main system!

I'm on 8.0.4, and experienced my first Ableton crash ever, 2 weeks ago.PsyTox wrote:having so many crashes lately with Ableton 8.0.6 that I just went back to logic for a whilepatrick bateman wrote:I read so much bad about the 8.1.1 release, so I would stay on 8.0.5 if I were you until a new release is out...Depre wrote:well my new iMac should be arriving sometime this week,

Besides this one crash, it's been working rock solid!
Seriously? Last night mine kept crashing when I tried to change the octave on a synth - weird, but then the CPU was totally maxed.patrick bateman wrote:I'm on 8.0.4, and experienced my first Ableton crash ever, 2 weeks ago.PsyTox wrote:having so many crashes lately with Ableton 8.0.6 that I just went back to logic for a whilepatrick bateman wrote:I read so much bad about the 8.1.1 release, so I would stay on 8.0.5 if I were you until a new release is out...Depre wrote:well my new iMac should be arriving sometime this week,
