hey everybody,
so i've moved to a new place last night and am in the middle of setting up the monitors.
the problem i have in this new space is that there is only one wall behind me (monitors on my left and right). while the rest is all windows. pretty high windows about 12 feet up.
i heard a few of my own tracks so i could see the sound difference and i noticed a HUGE rise in the 50-60hz (sub bass) levels. nothing is a crisp as it used to be.
anyone got any advice to fix this issue?
my monitors are KRK Rokit 8's and they are both on the same stands I had in the earlier place. and i've got the stands on a carpet.
let me know if you need more info.
itching to make them sound the way they did in the older space.
just moved to a new place, need some setup help!
so the room has a high resonance in the 50-60hz range.
simple corner/bass traps like these should help:

Don't waste money on overpriced foam. Slightly effective for controlling mid and hi frequencies, but for anything below 150/200 Hz, forget about it.

maybe move the speakers away from the walls or windows. get the traps and maybe get a room eq.

Cheaper, I looked at those traps, but yeah they are a bit out of budget.
hydrogen, honestly there's no other place I can keep them. this room is not that huge so cramped for space when it comes to moving them away from the windows. I'll even look into room eq's, could you recommend me some?
Will keep trying new things. anyone heard of this KRK Ergo system? It's a room correction filter. Might do the trick!

still you would need the calibration mic and then you could use your computer as a spectrum analyzer to calibrate the eq.
Then again... the same friend was like... don't bother doing anything until you try to treat the room.
Maybe ask these guys about treating the room?

Did you notice in the ERGO video how far the monitors were from the back of the room?
its probably worth a go... for some kind of calibration probably couldn't hurt. maybe borrow one and do a mix?
Sorry no definitive thing here.
