I understand your frustration with the big swoopelidoop brake down with 1/32 delays that turn into a heavy kick. But if you think theres just these kinds of tracks out there I think your looking in the wrong place.

when you play a track on his own
it isnt that spectacular
it is the dj job to make it special
with good mixes and good tune selection

some tracks are spectacular. thats what everyone should be aiming for. anything less than spectacular isn't good enough.

exactly ^

this thread is making my stomach hurt!

are most of you agreeing that techno music is made for dj's to play in clubs, and if the track isn't boring enough to REQUIRE the dj to put his own FX on it.. then the track is actually BAD????

this can't be a general consensus can it?

I understand not liking some breaks.. so skip em? but the music i like has amazing breaks... and most of the time the best tracks are the best because of such an amazing break.. and sometimes it has a filter sweep!!!

OMG!! now I can't dj that track!! because I CAN;T LOOK COOL TURNING A KNOB for that one break... people might notice that some of the filter fx are actually in songs already and don't require a dj!!!

WHAT WILL WE EVER DO!!!!!!!!

*puke* :D

Someone throw in the vinyl vs. mp3 argument and we've got mnml summed up in one topic. ;)
