Live 8 Static Glitch

Post by ferdy »

Hey guys,

Ran into a buggy problem with Live 8 today.
Basically what happens is that sometimes there's a sudden static click, a random 10ms static click which comes upon at random spots. I can't seem to get rid of it.

Not too sure whats causing it, the master is well below clipping range (-5db) to be exact. But somethings causing it to click.

On top of this, I ran into some reverb glitch. Suddenly a huge spray of noise just comes out of the reverb clipping the master whenever it feels like it.

Anyone has the same problem?

Itching to fix it up. Got to submit this track in 24 hours.

Here's an example of both the glitches (please keep your volumes really low when playing back the reverb noise, its really really loud that glitch:

1. Static Click (comes in between 4-5 seconds this small CLICK sound: http://bit.ly/7mQYBv
2. Reverb NOISE (play on low low volume): http://bit.ly/4R41aD

Any thoughts, fixes or suggestions welcome.

Cheers!

Dont know if this helps, but some shareware VSTs emit noise randomly to remind you of not having registered. Maybe you got one of those in your project?

For the reverb glitch i dont know, never experienced that...

No shareware here. Sketchy business with ableton, never happened before. Messing around with my buffer settings at the moment.

I'm on Live 8.0.4 right now, if that helps.

Cheeers!

have you tried giving live 8.1 a go?
They did fix quite a lot of bugs with the recent updates...

wicked!
for now I've fixed up the problem.

for the reverb noise, i made another new channel, and automated the fx again. worked.

and for the clicks i exported every channel separately in wav format then re-imported in a new project file.

seems to have worked.

nonetheless, the upgrade is essential.

thanks for everything guyss!

btw, Opuswerk your music is excellent. Keep it up mate! :|

glad updating sorted it for you.
Still quite a few bugs that need ironing out, but live8 seems to get as stable as it can be. Although it still constantly crashes each time i try to quit it

P.S.: thx for the kind words

Were you by chance using the complex mode warping? I noticed popping and this and that on those tracks. Forcing me to render and do the same thing you mentioned.

"Complex mode is a rather CPU-intensive function, using approximately ten times the CPU resources required by other Warp Modes. As such you may want to freeze tracks where Complex mode is used or record the results as a new clip to use as a substitute"
