using live, with reason as slave (*whip sound*). And also trying to use Logic but the workflow of live is so much more 'natural' for me that I keep returning to Live. Despite the sound and the totally wacko synths in Logic.
Reason is the most underestimated piece of software though. Without much hassle you can create stuff in there that would take ages in another daw. I mainly use the samplers in there and control them by an audio and midi channel in live. Works like a charm I also don't have a lot of choice to do things like that sometimes because heaps of my favourite sounds are locked inside a refill and I haven't come across a decent piece of software to unpack all of them.

I use 95% of native plugins. The 3rd party ones are usually the TAL-Audio plugs, as well as the d16 ones. I do however find that with racks you can basically build your own fxs, so I usually always end up making specific ones for each track. It's really all up to some creative routing etc. It would of course be better if one didn't have to find out workarounds all the time...Daemonix wrote:btw people that use Live for production... Do you use native plugins? (EQs, Compressors, reverb, delay) or 3rd party?
thnx

question for the Logic pro people!
I read tips about balancing cpu in Logic (Apple Docs..etc) but I dont seem to get it right!
I know its a bit of overkill but I just want to push it hard.
thnx
tasos
EDIT: I discovered that you lose around half the CPU power when you use your macbook(or pro.. tested in both) with the AC power but with removed battery!!!!! (RIDICULOUS!!!!)
EDIT2: from apple: "If the battery is removed from a MacBook or MacBook Pro, the computer will automatically reduce the processor speed. This prevents the computer from shutting down if it demands more power than the A/C adapter alone can provide."
LOL
