I saw the spam.
What was the purpose? Who earns what from doing that??nothing made sense to me..
just curious
Holy WTF Interviews spam!
the spam gets picked up by search engine robots / spiders and gets indexed when they crawl the forum. Searching for those words brings up this site, but can also increase the rankings of the sites they are spamming for because other sites mention it / link to it / etc.
In theory, those sites then get increased traffic and/or ad revenue due to more clicks and impressions.
The spam posts are usually automated and simply crawl the net looking for pretty much anything it can automatically post to.
The software running this forum is a popular and widely used one, so chances are there are a number of auto-spammers that know how to login/register/post/etc or know if guest accounts/etc are enabled or not.
