what about the stuff that isn't "so" well-known (as Kraftwerk etc)?
like Monoton for an example. I guess u can't be more influential to minimal techno than that...

I actually downloaded this album that I saw in another users library on soulseek out of sheer curiosity, it was called Underground german new wave hits or something from that nature, its from the 80's and it has a few tracks that are like minimal techno, with lyrics. I thought they were ahead of its time. I'll look at the names later.

yeah theres a series 'monotonprodukt', its good stuff. 7 is my favorite.

Well legend has it Cox posted up at Love Parade in 89 and played with 3 turntables, something that hadn't really been done before. If you listen to his old essential mixes from 96-98 you can hear him play 2 or 3 tracks at all times.

the stuff was just re-released (2006 & 2009) on Oral. fckn awesome (check the track "ein wort")

In 1998 The Wire magazine singled out Monoton’s record "Monotonprodukt07" from 1982 among the 100 most important records of the 20th century.
