ive been trying to duplicate that effect, where a track sits on this layer of slight warping of its own signal, usually melodies or vocals (it sounds like touching the platter on a vinyl, where it goes slightly up or down)
the track sounds like its wobbling on its self...but the effected sound in the track is introduced on top of the original (or in the backround like a reverb)
can anyone help me with this??? i know it sounds vague....i think early west coast hip hop producers used it by pressing ittoo vinyl, and recording the playback as someone touches the platter to make the pitch shift up and down slightly....then taking that recording and mixing it back in with the master to achieve the effect...
anyone??
question regarding warping...anyone know how to do this????
