its one thing to have an entire funktion-one sound system...

but having just played labyrinth in japan a week ago, not only do you have to have that sound system, but you need to have their custom mixers, made by formula sound, which both berghain and labyrinth use.

and yes...they do sound amazing when done properly. probably the best sound system in the world, if you ask me.

Formulas are great to play with F1s. Pure bliss.

never saw that Formula thing, looks like a robust mixer indeed. We use the A&H Xone for F1, sounds sweet too :)
It's remarkable how crappy the pioneer mixers sound on F1 though.

lol. That said, i dont really like hte sound of what f1 setups I have heard. The highs sound like knives being sharpened. MIds are great, but subs drop off under 50 unless you add the infra. Certainly looks good and gets loud, which is what most clubbers want, anyway.

Seems a little strange you'd say that as the club where we do our party has a full Funktion 1 soundsystem.
The club owner told us that when the Funktion 1 people came to install everything they recommended the pioneer over the allen and heath and said using anything but the pioneer can compromise the sound.
We have in the past used A&Hs at certian artists requests and ive not noticed a difference in sound quality for better or worse.
Who knows what to believe?

I think those techs had it backwards. Although, I will say that I think the Pioneer DJM800 mixer sounds better than the A&H Xone92. Plus, the new Xone92s are pieces of sh!t. They moved the manufacturing over to china or some sh!t like that, so it's apparent the units are now mass-produced.

everyone loves to dog on pioneer mixers because the djm.500 / 600 were such gloriously overhyped piles of sh!t. personally, outside of the x.one:62, anything else from a+h is also a gloriously overhyped pile of sh!t. the 92 feels like a tinker toy, and its not nearly as warm sounding as the 62. outside of that, its just pedantic jockriding of hawtin and crew.

i'd take a pioneer djm.800 over a a+h x.one:92 any day. but i'd take my ecler nuo.5 over those two without question. and i'd kill to own one of those formula sound mixers, or even a rane 2016a with the expander.
