Elyte and Cnyce's paths were crossed for all time when a Sun Ra light beam sent from Saturn collided with the P-Funk Mothership and sent them tumbling to earth. Now, Soulclap time travels on a musical spaceship of dopeness to make girls shake their butts and dudes say "oooooh".

The early years.
As children on earth, they were driven to understand the history of dance music and found their teacher in original boston disco DJ Caril Mitro who admitted them into the temple of Vinyl Connection (whose members included Dimitri From Paris and Frankie Knuckles plus many more). Caril taught Soul Clap that "house wears many hats" and instilled the sounds of New York, Chicago, Detroit and Philadelphia while fostering an addiction to digging that has become a worldwide quest to acquire the best vinyl and download every good song on the planetary-interweb.

Soulclap's training goes beyond history lessons to mastering all the elements of the DJ: knowledge, mixing, programming, performance and experience. They honed their knowledge, Elyte taught a college course about dance music and Cnyce worked for UK booking agency MN2S.

In between.
They locked themselves in a basement until their mixing was flawless and traveled the universe observing the most advanced programmers (Josh Wink, Carl Craig, Francois K). Then they went out into the world to perform at Ministry of Sound in London, Paradiso in Amsterdam, Avalon in Los Angeles, Rise in Boston, and in smaller places in New York, Baltimore, Washington DC, Miami, Dallas, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Chicago, Mars and Jupiter plus dancefloors in other galaxies that you haven't heard. 20 years of experience has prepared Soul Clap to free your mind, and your ass will follow.

The future.
By harnessing the past Soulclap looks to the future and plays a seminal role for Boston dance music. They perform simultaneously with 4 turntables and 2 mixers, as well as with percussionists, saxophonists and sometimes with full bands of live musicians. They organize parties with DJs like Carl Craig, King Britt, Josh Wink, Questlove, J-Boogie, Alix Alvarez and The Rub. They bring their cosmic vision to earth with original production, record custom mixes for FILA, Intercontinental Hotel Group and Nanette Lepore, as well as produce The Adventures of Soulclap Podcast (available on iTunes). Always pushing new boundaries, always traveling time and space, Soulclap is the Great White Hope.

Amelie is the newly born production outfit Sophie Oliver and Claudia Lovisa, already a highly acclaimed duo on the DJ circuit. Their names have been on everyone's lips this year for the dynamic and stylish way in which they bring a dancefloor to its knees.

Chris Gruber and Nils Nuernberg are a bright and talented production and DJ duo hailing from Hamburg, North Germany. In little over a year, these two close friends and all-round music lovers have quickly built a name for themselves with their straight forward, modern approach to house music.

A dedicated obsession with house music fused the pair, and armed with Chris' long-time DJ and record collecting history, and Nils' passionate studio flair, it was a perfect unison! Strictly aimed at the dancefloor, their sound flirts between percussive, organic and classic house elements, encapsulated by smooth, room filling chord stabs and essential, perfect bouncing grooves.

In 2008, their first year of work, the pair produced highly received, innovative releases for labels like Diynamic (their debut 'Floating Clouds in Summer'), 8Bit ('Fractions EP' inc. the hit 'Laugh Lines'), Was Not Was ('C'Mon Dance EP'), and Bloop ('Traffic', inc. Agnes Remix), with the anthemic, addictive groove of 'Laugh Lines' on 8Bit really bringing them into the spotlight. Furthermore, they've put out a growing collection of outstanding remixes for the likes of Steve Bug's infamous Dessous label (Tracks and The City - Dessous Classics), Fresh Fish, and more.. And so the boys have already begun to make their mark on this blossoming scene; proof that they really mean business! The charismatic duo are keen to express their love for this inspiring music form; on the one hand its all about 'expressing so much, using very few elements... yet transmitting powerful emotions to the dance floor...' On the other, they are fascinated by the energy and sense of companionship that a club atmosphere brings, with its open-minded, positivity and the special feeling of unity with your fellow dancers. They suggest their motto might be; 'with each other, rather than against'. A fitting statement when your foremost aim is to bring people together with the joy of dance.

Now as they jump head first into 2009, they prepare for more exciting releases on 8Bit, and Bloop Recordings, with remixes scheduled for Liebe*Detail Spezial, Swiss trend-setters Drumpoet Community and UK label Leftroom, amongst others. With an expanding DJ schedule that will see them performing across Europe as the summer months approach, and a debut and in-demand Live show in the making, surely bigger things within reach for Gruber and Nuernberg.
