this is how we party in France ... Electromind 2009

Post by camus »

as you might not know , electromind is one of the biggest french techno ( legal ) rave in France.
Great artists like dubfire , hawtin , Garnier , have played there.

This year , because of the rain and the "canceling" of the festival , the party was between ravers , bouncers and cops.

the festival staff was too dumb to think about covering gear and cables even if rain was forecasted that peculiar day

dumbest staff ever ...

if you want to see a party gone bad , with cops charging ravers with toxic gaz , and raver breaking everthing etc :

for those who dont understand french , the sound track is somthing like :

"motherfuckers , sobs, and people yelling at cops "

this is how we rock the dance floor in france

Reminds me of the raids of the legendray club in Stockholm called Docklands in the mid 90's. The police were carrying out people from the club as everyone refused to leave and made human chains around the DJ booth. 8)

I can add to the tracklisting :
"Fuckers !!! Son of a b**** !!! Get the fck away !!!"

No seriously : wtf !
I heard about that, but I wasn't expecting something like that... That's really bad advertisment for this kind of event in France !
At least for the clubbers it seems that they will get their money back, hopefully !

well , they are upset because the party was cancelled because of 30 minutes of rain. they are upset because they paid 30 euros , because some of them came from very far away , and when the show was cancelled , so was the bar too , in those festivals you have to buy coins to get booze and the bar . If the bar is closed , you remain like an idiot with your coins that have no value anymore , etc...

but mainly because french people get upset very fast

Of course violence isn't the answer neither clubbing ravers or gasing them ...

the problem, is that the festival organisation didn't buy things to protect cables and gear nore the stages from the rain , even if they knew bad weather was forecasted , because they wanted to maximize their profits.

i went to glastonbury or benicassim a few times, i experienced some rain there , but the shows were never totally canceled because of a few drop of water during 30 minutes.

The festival organisation was too greedy to take costly mesures against rain ( cause yes , adapting an electric system to the rain is expensive ).

I admit because of that fact , they have done the right thing in cancelling the show ( imagine Hawtin or Dubfire fried up , because of a short circuit , not good for the scene hey  ) but they should have thought about this before taking the money from the ravers period

I hate saying that but...

I say it by the way...

France is really not the place to be for electronic music (and for a lot of other things)

No clubs, bad music, arrogant, intolerant people (fear of the difference), I become really sad of my native country.

I'm not astonished when I see these videos.
