What sound card/interface should I use with a Xone1D?

Post by youandewan »

I'm thinking about purchasing a xone1d to add to my set-up, for live fx running through ableton to accompany cdjs through an analogue mixer.

I also want to use the xone 1d to do live sets alone in ableton.

I'm not in the position to afford the 2d, therefore I need a soundcard for the 1d.

Can you guys give me some ideas about what to get.

I've been looking but I'm confused about what type of card I need.

I want to be able to cue at-least 2 channels so does that mean I need a 4ch stereo sound-card?

Also would I need to plug the Xone1d directly into a usb interface rather than straight into my mac?

Or would the Xone1d and the interface/sound card have to be plugged into each usb port on my mac.

I'm very confused and simply wanna get my head round it all before I buy anything.

Any help info would be very much appreciated.

I use the audio 8 .. and it works like a charm..
You must put the midi in and out of the audio 8. works faster than usb into your mac..

thanks, I've had a look but gonna be out of my price range. think i'll just blow my load on a 2d unless anyone can recommend something that can do the same job between 80-150?
Do I just generally need a 4ch soundcard? will that be exactly what I need?

its faster to go over the midi in rather then the usb? i doubt that.

i use the xone2:d for live. i dont think its the best solution, but since they updated the drivers its a lot better for me now.
a great combination i guess is the apogee duet and a uc33. at least it is for me
