I kinda 100% agree with you HEFTY...HEFTY wrote:tone-def wrote:in that case there's lots of dark minimal out there. I thought you were after the darkest of the dark the way your saying there isn't much about.HEFTY wrote: also theres different aspects to dark music, it doesnt all have to be doom inducing but can include stuff thats spooky, moody, eerie etc etc
What i was trying to say is with in this genre of music it's the deeper trippy stuff that works better. If your trying to show aggression (a dark emotion) making minimal techno isn't the best way to express yourself. It's just personal preference i prefer dark music to be trippy or aggressive. i hear spooky, moody and eerie sounds in the most playful and light music.
what im saying is theres a distinct lack of consistant good quality dark minimal tek out there, im talking stuff that people would go and dance to in clubs as i am a dj and personally thats whats inportant to me, so i guess its all down (as usual) to personal preference. also just because one artist produces a dark track one time theres no guarentee that the next release from the same guy will b floaty shite, again a lack of consistancy.
also one spooky noise in a track dont make it a dark tune, its the overall feel of the track as a whole. but im always willing to learn so feel free to point me in the direction of some sht i should check out.
i dont know why u mentioned aggression tho, thats just one aspect of dark music, and also personally i find im more than able to convey my dark thoughts and emotions through the music i make.

dont get me wrong obv theres always gonna b music out there that is much darker than others, im sure Nazi SS death core black metal (if there is such a thing) would always b darker than the darkest of dnb tracks, so its finding the balance in the music that you like.
at the end of the day its about personal prefence, if we all liked the same sht life would b boring
I am really feeling the darkness in my tracks at the moment and darkness has ever been somehow exciting for me...
I can't stand too much happy latino trumpet house styled trax but sometimes I need that too..
I think that you for sure can be dark / sinister / agressive in mnml as well...
I am actually writing about my agress-dark-melancholic feelings out there and think it works pretty well...
I can also , express my feelings more with dark tracks than the usual bongotastic at the moment
